Health Products and Food Branch Public Advisory Committee
Public Advisory Committee Closed
Since 2002, the Public Advisory Committee (PAC) has provided valuable advice to Health Canada's Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB).
During the tenure of the committee, however, public involvement activities undertaken by HPFB have steadily evolved; their scope and breadth have broadened significantly. As a result, the Branch has closed the Public Advisory Committee and will instead use a variety of public involvement methods to inform and involve citizens. Some of them include seeking input through public forums, public and town hall meetings, expert advisory committees and workshops.
The input of PAC has been instrumental in the development of more open and transparent decision making processes in the Health Products and Food Branch. Its members have earned the commendation of both Health Canada and Canadians.
The Public Advisory Committee is a public/consumer involvement forum that advises on issues and initiatives as requested by the Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB). It is a component of the Branch's strategy to increase transparency and public involvement through the consultation processes.
